Shady Garden Bed
Perfect for Spring & Summer
Shade Garden Bed Project
Shade Project
Project Time: 4-6 hours
This shade garden design is full of textures and colors, beautiful flowers and striking foliage that will put on a show all spring and summer. A spring-blooming, deciduous mophead hydrangea (a Southern garden staple!) acts as the focal in this bed, with perennial hostas, astilbe and hokone grass as accents that will return year after year. Annual caladiums can be replaced each summer or try a new shade-loving annual each year. The purple heuchera foliage will stick around all year to anchor your garden bed through each season. The bed is approximately 12 feet by 8 feet.
