Pet-Friendly Houseplants
A plant's level of
toxicity can vary and symptoms can vary based on how much is ingested. Just like humans, dogs and
cats can also have allergic reactions to plants. Consult your veterinarian if
your pet has allergies.
If your heart is set on having a certain plant, do your research and be strategic about placement (like hanging plants & tall shelves). You could also try a faux version of a toxic houseplant to be completely safe. Want to know about a specific plant? Check the ASPCA's library of plants.
If your pet has ingested a toxic plant, contact the National Animal Poison Control Center: 1-888-426-4435
